The Nantou Grace Home Church was founded in 2005 after the devastation caused by the 921 earthquake on September 21, 1999.
Many earthquake victims were still in need assistance after the huge aftermath of support immediately following the event. Much like hurricane Katrina’s effect on the southeastern United States, this area is still recovering.
In the beginning, the church offered free lunch and dinner every day.
Later, it was discovered that most people live in remote areas and it was hard for them to gather in this church for daily meals.
Therefore the church model changed. Now, goods and materials are provided on Sunday when people gather to worship.
The church also home delivers goods and meals to many who struggle with transportation over long distances like the elderly.
